                    Religions for Peace – USA Advances North American Regional Consultation

Religions for Peace – USA helped organize the North American Regional Consultation held on June 13, 2019 at Bon Secours Retreat & Conference Center in Marriottsville, Maryland. About 30 youth, women, and religious leaders from US and Canada attended the retreat which focused on the theme – Advancing Shared Well-Being – of the upcoming 10th World Assembly of Religions for Peace. The issues discussed at the meeting included:

  1. Advancing positive peace,
  2. Transforming Conflict,
  3. Promoting just and harmonious societies,
  4. Working for sustainable and integral human development, and
  5. Protecting the Earth

The retreat was attended by diverse faith groups including Apostolic Christian, Buddhism, Catholicism, Greek Orthodox, Hinduism, Jainism, Lutheran, Mennonite, Shia Islam, Sikh Faith, Sunni Islam, and Zoroastrian. Many of the member communities of Religions for Peace – USA represent US and Canada.
